Hirons names director of strategic communications

Agency hires Vicki Duncan Gardner as director of strategic communications

INDIANAPOLIS

Hirons, an advertising, public relations and digital agency with offices in Indianapolis and Chicago, has hired Vicki Duncan Gardner as director of strategic communications.

Most recently, Gardner worked in municipal government in Westfield, IN as director of communications where she was involved in public affairs, crisis response and strategic initiatives. Additionally, she served as the Press Secretary for Indiana’s Lt. Governor, worked in leadership at a digital marketing firm and at in corporate communications for a Fortune 500 company. Prior to these roles, Gardner spent several years as a television reporter and anchor across the Midwest.

Gardner will provide strategic oversight on public relations and crisis communications initiatives, while serving as the management lead on several key client accounts.

“Vicki’s vast experience will be invaluable as we work on a number of public relations projects at the agency. She will provide key guidance for a diverse selection of client accounts all while driving the strategy for our strategic communications endeavors,” said Jay Schemanske, senior vice president, strategic communications and account services.

Gardner holds a bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in political science from DePauw University.
