WHAT PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE INDUSTRY?
It is incredibly important to be personable in this industry. I have met various people and clients who hold different positions within their companies, and I have found that sharing stories of similar experiences or having knowledge of that industry has been helpful in fostering conversations.
WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU HAVE YOUR BEST IDEAS?
When the city sleeps and the moonlight highlights the suburban streets, my mind formulates the most creative ideas. Unfortunately, this does not align well with my current work schedule, so I am trying to find a balance between work life and the creative thoughts that circulate in my mind.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY?
If I had to choose, it would be a hard decision between early morning and late at night. I appreciate the calm before the chaos that this time of day offers.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
Well, funny enough, my first job was at Domino’s Pizza when I turned 16. I love pizza so I figured why not work at a pizzeria to learn the art of pizza making. I encountered many different requests for pizza toppings that were both delicious and disgusting. I perfected the art of spreading the dough, sprinkling the cheese, and answering the phone. It was a fast-paced environment, and I loved every minute of it. Getting a discount on my gluten free pizza was also a nice perk too!
WHAT’S ONE QUOTE THAT DEFINES YOU?
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else in the greatest accomplishment.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE VACATION?
I have been fortunate enough to visit many states within the U.S. as well various cities in other countries. Of those, my favorite trips would have to be Phoenix, Arizona and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I chose Phoenix and Pittsburgh because I am a huge fan of the mountains, hiking trails, historical monuments and skyscrapers that capture the eyes of many. There is a stark contrast between each of these cities, but I gained a newfound sense of adventure from each vacation.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU DO EVERY DAY AND CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?
Snacks are a must. Always. I always pack a snack or two for any and every occasion, because I tend to be a better person when I have a snack tucked away somewhere.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOVIE OR BOOK?
I stumbled upon the book Monogamy by Sue Miller last summer. It was my first time reading such a mature book about adjusting to the many changes that life throws our way.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?
Working at Hirons has been such a unique opportunity to work with multiple clients in different fields. I have such a diverse clientele of people who specialize in security, healthcare, food services, entertainment and more.
