WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOLS OF THE TRADE?
Adaptability, curiosity and collaboration are important tools of this industry, and many others. However, the ability to cultivate positive working relationships is one of the most important and rewarding.
OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES OR PASSIONS?
Outside of the office, I enjoy cooking and visiting local farmers’ markets to enjoy the seasonal offerings. During the spring and summer months, I grow vegetables, herbs and berries to incorporate with meals.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY?
I enjoy the quiet clarity of early mornings. Some of my best writing, reading and ideating occurs before the sun rises with a fresh cup of espresso.
WHAT IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL PART OF YOUR JOB?
There are multiple meaningful aspects of this job. However, one that stands out is the ability to support individuals and organizations to achieve their respective goals.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
My first full-time job was in professional sports. I had the privilege to play basketball for CB Valls in the Spanish region of Tarragona. My teammates, the organization and the Valls community made the experience one I’ll never forget.
WHAT’S ONE QUOTE THAT DEFINES YOU?
“You can’t stop people from trying to limit your dreams, but you can stop it from becoming a reality. Your dreams are up to you. I encourage you to always be curious, always seek out things you love and always work hard once you find it.”
– Kobe Bryant
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS.
Passionate. Caring. Resilient.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU EVERY DAY AND CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?
I always start my day chatting with my family. Some days the conversation lasts five minutes, other days it lasts longer. Speaking with the people I love most helps me begin the day on the right foot.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOVIE OR BOOK?
As a lifelong sports fan, two of my favorite movies are Remember the Titans and The Express. The camaraderie shown by the Alexandria City High School football team served as motivation during my experience in sports. Similarly, the grace and resilience of Ernie Davis at Syracuse University and during his battle with Leukemia is a story that inspired many, myself included.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?
The people at Hirons make working here great. In my short time here, I have greatly appreciated the spirit of teamwork, support and community.
