I am going into my final semester at Indiana University. My major is media advertising and public relations.

Why did you choose Hirons for an internship?

After I graduate, I want to move out to Los Angeles and work for an ad agency and I wanted to have an experience that stood out. Hirons is a great way to stand out and get great experience.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

I want to learn more about the agency world and master working in a fast paced environment. Since I am going into my last semester of college, I think this is a great time for me to get an understanding of the workforce I’m heading into.

I have previously interned at WonderLab Science Museum, IU Athletics, IU Libraries, Warner Brothers Records and DoLA. All of these internships were in PR, marketing or publicity.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

I have worked in customer service since I was 16 and worked everywhere from a movie theatre, to a concert venue, to a snow-cone truck, so I can get along with just about any type of person in any kind of scenario.

What were your first impressions of Hirons?

Everyone is so nice and since day one has been willing to get the interns involved in projects and meetings. Also, it has the BEST rooftop in Indy.

Fun facts about yourself:

I am a dog mom to two standard poodles and I have been a vegetarian my entire life!

I hope to learn as much as possible before my transition into graduate school.

I attend Ball State University, where I’m an English studies major.

Why did you choose for an internship?

I attend IUPUI, and am pursuing a degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations

I toured Hirons last fall during PRSA Hoosier’s Half Day with a Pro and was so impressed not only by the work Hirons does, but also by the fun and focused culture of the agency.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

As a business development intern, I hope to experience a side of agency life I haven’t had the opportunity to explore through other internships. I hope to gain a better understanding of all the ways an agency functions and grows by the end of my internship at Hirons.

What kind of work-related experience do you bring to us?

I have completed two Indianapolis-area communications and marketing internships prior to coming to Hirons, one of them for another agency. These experiences taught me so much about the PR industry in Indianapolis, and helped me realize I wanted to pursue a career in agency. I am also very involved with PRSSA, and will be serving as the IUPUI chapter’s vice president for the 2019 – 2020 school year.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

I’m a member of IUPUI’s swim team, and being a collegiate athlete has taught me discipline, work ethic and how to effectively manage my time (not to mention how to function on very little sleep). These skills have been extremely helpful when pursuing a career in agency.

What were your first impressions of Hirons?

Everyone at Hirons knows how to get work done, but also how to have fun along the way. I’m so excited to be a part of this team!

Surrounding myself with people who have different personalities and values has helped me to become a more versatile, empathetic writer.

Hirons runs a very tight ship, but everyone seems joyful and relaxed, which is a very impressive balance to strike. (Also, sometimes dogs appear here. I love it when dogs appear in workplace settings.)
