Get to know our media coordinator, Taylor Barrett.

HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN THE INDUSTRY?
I became interested in the industry while I was working on my undergrad at Ball State. I found that I really enjoyed the creativity that marketing and advertising encourages.

 

OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES OR PASSIONS?
I enjoy biking or hiking when I can and doing fun creative projects in my spare time.

 

HOW DID YOU BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY AND LAND YOUR FIRST JOB?
My first job in the industry was with a small sales firm on the north side of Indy. It allowed me to get experience with the selling side of business, but Hirons was my first job within the advertising side.

 

WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU HAVE YOUR BEST IDEAS?
Usually, I come up with my best ideas while commuting to or from work.

 

WHAT PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE INDUSTRY?
I think being adaptable and team-oriented are great characteristics to have in this industry. With an ever-changing market, it’s good to be able to adjust quickly to changes and work well with your team to come up with new ideas for your clients.

 

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
My first job was at a t-shirt shop, designing and pressing t-shirts.

 

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN TOWN?
If I had to choose, I’d probably say Maggiano’s Little Italy currently. You can’t go wrong with Italian.

 

WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE VACATION?When my family took a road trip out west to visit several national parks. We were able to see so many amazing things in just two weeks that made the experience so memorable.

 

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOVIE OR BOOK?
It’s too hard to choose! I’m very partial to Pixar and Studio Ghibli films though.

 

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?
Getting the opportunity to work with and learn from so many talented people.
