HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN THE INDUSTRY?
My interest started in high school while taking my business electives, and it grew even stronger during college when I found myself having the most fun in my marketing classes. I have always had an interest in psychology and human behavior as well, which inspired me to go into this field.
HOW DID YOU BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY AND LAND YOUR FIRST JOB?
The main thing that helped me land my first job in the industry was having patience and persistence. It can be hard to land that first job, but you have to trust that the right opportunity will come when it’s meant to, as long as you are looking for it. I also made sure to commit myself to continuous learning even after graduation.
OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES OR PASSIONS?
Some of my hobbies include reading, baking, and cooking. I also enjoy hiking and being outdoors, especially during fall. I love thrifting and trying new coffee shops as well.
WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU HAVE YOUR BEST IDEAS?
My best ideas pop into my head randomly. Usually I’ll be doing chores, going on a walk, or driving.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY?
My favorite time of day is the morning because I enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with it and I feel like I am usually calmer and more focused earlier in the day.
DID YOU HAVE ANY UNUSUAL JOBS BEFORE WORKING AT HIRONS?
The most unusual job I had before Hirons was working at culinary summer camp for teenagers in Pasadena, CA. It was definitely different from any other job I’ve had, but I loved getting to know all the campers and trying the delicious food they made. I also love to travel, so it was exciting being able to live and work somewhere new for a few weeks.
WHAT’S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT YOU’RE PROUD OF, PERSONALLY OR PROFESSIONALLY?
I am most proud of graduating college, especially since neither of my parents got to do so.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN TOWN?
My favorite restaurant in town is probably Blue Sushi Sake Grill. I also love Maialina in Fountain Square.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU DO EVERY DAY AND CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?
For me, every day requires some sort of caffeinated beverage. I am partial to iced lattes or matcha, but sometimes a coconut berry Red Bull will do the job too.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?
So far, my favorite part of working at Hirons has been the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and learn so many new things. Everyone is willing to share their knowledge and help you succeed.
