Ruler Foods reached out to Hirons in hopes of addressing three key issues: support of customer counts, identification of cost-effective marketing strategies and assistance generating brand awareness. The business needed to build a loyal following and increase sales.
Hirons’ recognized the client needed to transfer the majority of its promotional efforts from traditional methods of advertising, like print and billboards, to digital platforms. Digital efforts were paired with a major public relations push focusing on promoting the openings of several Ruler Foods stores across the Midwest.
Hirons’ first move was to establish a significant digital presence for the grocery chain by building social media profiles for each location, all of which were linked through a central account. Digital outreach was both the most cost-effective option and was a key tool for building audience awareness of store openings.
In tandem with digital efforts to create interest around store openings, Hirons’ PR team reached out to media in local markets before store openings. These efforts led to publication is an array of different media, including evening news coverage for the store opening near St. Louis, Missouri.
