Hirons, a full-service marketing and communications consulting agency providing advertising, public relations and digital services, has promoted Samantha Sandala to director, public relations.
In this role, Sandala will join Linda Jackson, senior account director, public relations in leading Hirons’ public relations department, working to further expand and enhance the agency’s strategic communications efforts. During her nearly five years at Hirons, Sandala has garnered depth and breadth of experience in content marketing, issues management, media relations and stakeholder outreach and engagement. A member of Hirons’ crisis communications team, Sandala is also skilled at providing proactive and reactive strategic communications for myriad issues and incidents.
“Sam possesses unique talents and skills that will help the agency move forward, alongside Linda’s unquestioned expertise and proficiency as a seasoned public relations professional,” said Jay Schemanske, executive vice president at Hirons. “I am confident that Sam will be instrumental in blazing new pathways and taking our clients to new heights.”
Sandala first joined Hirons in 2018 as an intern in the agency’s business development department. She returned in 2020, taking on a full-time account coordinator role. Since then, she has worked her way up through Hirons’ communications management department, serving as an account manager and senior account manager before her promotion to director, public relations.
“I am, first and foremost, extremely grateful to be a member of Team Hirons and for the opportunities the agency and my clients have afforded me,” said Sandala. “As Hirons moves into a season of strategic growth, I’m proud to assume a role that allows me to play an even larger part in the agency’s promising future.”
Sandala has prior experience at another Indianapolis agency, where she worked with both corporate and non-profit clients and served as the associate producer for the agency’s corporate social responsibility podcast. She earned a bachelor’s in journalism with a concentration in public relations from Indiana University Indianapolis (formerly IUPUI), where she also competed on the university’s swim team. Sam is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America and received the PRSA Hoosier Chapter’s 2024 Young Professional Award.
Since its founding, Hirons has been known for several specialty areas of focus including business-to-business, crisis communications, government relations and a proprietary Rural Reach program.
