Hirons Promotes Business Development Team Member

Hirons, an advertising, public relations and digital agency with offices in Indianapolis and Chicago, has promoted Marissa Smith-Kenny to business development manager.

Hirons, an advertising, public relations and digital agency with offices in Indianapolis and Chicago, has promoted Marissa Smith-Kenny to business development manager.

Since joining Hirons’ team in 2018, Smith-Kenny has used her strategic mindset to develop thoughtful proposals and procure a wide array of clients across myriad service lines. She previously spent two years in communications roles for local nonprofits before accepting a position in Hirons’ internship program. Her ability to meet tight deadlines and think strategically quickly earned her a full-time position within the agency.

“Marissa’s marketing and project management acumen allows us to be extremely responsive to prospective client needs,” said Deana Haworth, chief operating officer. “We believe in developing positive client relationships even before contracts are signed, and Marissa helps us remain committed to a level of service that sets Hirons apart from the competition.”

Smith-Kenny is an honors graduate of IUPUI, where she earned her degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations. She currently serves on the Public Relations Society of America Hoosier Chapter’s scholarship committee and Girls Rock! Indianapolis’ marketing committee. She leads Hirons’ Diversity Team, serving as a representative for the Indy Rainbow Chamber of Commerce and Diversity Roundtable of Central Indiana.
