Hirons names Kimberly Short to controller

Long-time CFO Ann Kneifel to continue to serve on board of directors.

INDIANAPOLIS

Hirons, an advertising, public relations and digital agency with offices in Indianapolis and Chicago, has hired Kimberly Short as controller. Ann Kneifel, chief financial officer, will continue to serve on Hirons’ board of directors.

Short is a highly accomplished leader in financial management, with more than 25 years of experience and a track record of delivering exceptional results in deadline-driven environments. Most recently, Short served as controller at a national eyewear company. She will manage all financial functions at Hirons and serve on the executive management team. She was recently elected treasurer of the board.

Kneifel oversaw financial functions at the agency for more than 20 years in her role as chief financial officer. She was pivotal in the establishment of Hirons’ employee stock ownership plan.

“The last 20 years with Hirons has been the most stimulating, challenging and rewarding chapter of my professional career. Providing financial leadership to enable Hirons to become an ESOP has been an exhilarating experience,” Kneifel said. “Kim is a great fit culturally as she brings strong business acumen, management experience and a solutions-focused approach to Hirons.”

CEO Jim Parham lauded Kneifel’s role in Hirons’ success. “The execution of our financial goals have greatly benefited from Ann’s leadership and her extensive knowledge of all aspects of accounting,” he said. “This succession allows us to continue to provide excellent service to our clients while maintaining Ann’s counsel on the board.”

Short holds a bachelor’s degree in financial counseling from Purdue University and a post-baccalaureate certificate in professional accountancy from the University of Southern Indiana. She is also a certified public accountant.
