HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN THE INDUSTRY?
Last summer I interned for The Children’s Museum public relations department. I really enjoyed the experience and decided that this industry was something that I could visualize myself doing after college.
WHAT PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE INDUSTRY?
I think its important to be personable, organized, and focused. These characteristics allow for success, and they are characteristics I see in all of my Hirons co-workers.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE PROJECT THAT YOU’VE WORKED ON AT HIRONS?
The Madam Walker Legacy Center turning 95 was an interesting and enjoyable project. Seeing all the work the Hirons team and the Madam Walker team did and to see it come to life the day of the event was such an exciting experience.
WHAT’S ONE IMPORTANT TIP YOU WOULD SHARE WITH ANYONE LOOKING TO GO INTO THE AGENCY WORLD?
Be a sponge. I have spent my first month at Hirons trying to absorb as much information that I can, this has really helped with my learning process.
WHAT IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL PART OF YOUR JOB?
Witnessing all of the work that you do actually happen and make an impact.
DID YOU HAVE ANY UNUSUAL JOBS BEFORE WORKING AT HIRONS?
Nothing super unusual! One of my past jobs included being a camp counselor at the YMCA, which I surprisingly enjoyed. If I wasn’t working in this industry, I could have seen myself becoming a teacher.
WHAT’S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT YOU’RE PROUD OF, PERSONALLY OR PROFESSIONALLY?
Since this is so fresh, graduating undergrad is something I am proud of. Being able to receive a degree I had worked four long years for was rewarding.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN TOWN?
My favorite restaurant is always changing but I tried Bodhi a couple weekends ago and really enjoyed it.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOVIE OR BOOK?
I really like the Rush Hour franchise. I also enjoy really enjoy any rom-coms.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?
My favorite thing about working here is the positive environment that Hirons maintains and promotes. I also enjoy how supportive and hard-working everyone is, this attitude inspires me to do my best work on every account.
