Get to know media coordinator, Andrea Vidaurre!

Andrea Vidaurre

“I’ve had a great 6 weeks at Hirons so far. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms, and I couldn’t imagine getting my career started with a better company.”

HOW DID YOU BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY AND LAND YOUR FIRST JOB?

I was just looking up top ad agencies in Indianapolis and Hirons was on a list with several others. I entered the website and began looking at open positions and applied to the Media Coordinator role. Before my first interview, I did a lot of research on the company and Sheila, who was conducting my first interview. I made sure to dress and carry myself professionally, but in a way that still expressed who I am.

OUTSIDE OF THE OFFICE, WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR HOBBIES OR PASSIONS?

I’d say my biggest passion is traveling and getting to know other cultures and the people that are a part of them. My hobbies include reading and obsessing over Colleen Hoover books, trying new restaurants/food in the area, and finding and taking care of cool house plants.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?

Sales Associate at Lady Footlocker

WHAT’S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT YOU’RE PROUD OF, PERSONALLY OR PROFESSIONALLY?

I once made 6 three-pointers in a basketball game my senior year of high school.

WHAT’S ONE QUOTE THAT DEFINES YOU?

“Eating is not a job. Eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures.”

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN TOWN?

It’s currently Livery.

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS.

Driven, honest, ambivert

WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE VACATION?

My most memorable vacation is when I went to Aruba. The music, vibes and excursions were great. One thing that made it perfect was the weather. Even though it was always sunny, it never felt unbearably hot because there was always a nice breeze from the ocean.

The island depends on the tourism it brings so the locals are very friendly and welcoming. Because the island sits right above Venezuela but is a constituent country of the Kingdom of Netherlands, the locals consist of people from all over South America and other parts of the world which is another reason that this trip was so great. It’s completely normal for locals to know 3-5 languages which includes Spanish, English, Dutch, Papiamento (their native language) and Portuguese. I left that trip admiring the happiness and friendliness that every employee I encountered had.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOVIE OR BOOK?

My favorite movie is The Proposal, and my favorite book is The Woman in the Window. P.S: The book is way better than the movie.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WORKING AT HIRONS?

Learning from individuals who have been in the industry for a long time.
