Name: Dominic Dippel

Internship Title: Digital Intern

What college do/did you attend and what is your major?

I graduated from Marian University in May 2018. I majored in marketing and minored in graphic design.

Why did you choose Hirons for an internship?

I wanted to gain more marketing and advertising experience. After doing much research, I found that Hirons was the perfect place to equip me with the right tools to be successful. Also, the fact that the work done by Hirons is so prominent in the Indianapolis community really stuck out to me because Indianapolis is my home.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

I am looking forward to a more thorough understanding of digital advertising and how an agency works. I want to expand my knowledge of all the tools and best practices in the industry. I am excited to learn about the whole process of planning and executing a digital campaign from start to finish.

What kind of work-related experience do you bring to us?

During my time at Marian University, I was a marketing intern with the Byrum School of Business, and I was involved in a variety of clubs and groups. Each role strengthened my love for marketing, whether I was creating graphics, designing strategic marketing plans, organizing and photographing events or managing social media platforms.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

Although I have lived in Indianapolis my whole life, I have not let that stop me from traveling. I studied abroad my sophomore year in college, which allowed me to experience different cultures in multiple countries. I love trying and experiencing new things. I try to always push myself to learn something new every day.

What are your first impressions of Hirons?

From the first day I noticed how friendly and kind everyone is. No matter who it is, they are always willing to extend a helping hand. The environment is great, and I am excited for the future!

  1. I enjoy photography.

  3. I enjoy traveling and doing things outside.

Name: Ryan Hecker

Internship Title: Communications Management Intern

What college do/did you attend and what is your major?

Butler University and strategic communications.

Why did you choose Hirons for an internship?

Hirons has such a great reputation among the Butler family and the College of Communication. The culture is one in which I could see myself growing and learning.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

I hope to gain valuable experience in a field I’m passionate about and want to develop further.

What kind of work-related experience do you bring to us?

I have worked as a communication, marketing and copywriting intern at two other agencies.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

I am a tenacious learner who brings a hard-working, positive attitude every day.

What are your first impressions of Hirons?

The first couple of weeks have been fantastic! I feel welcomed and already a part of the amazing culture. I am going to learn a lot throughout the semester from these great professionals.

Name: Stephen Orban

Internship Title: Creative Intern

What college do/did you attend and what is your major?

I’m a graduate of Anderson University in visual communication.

Why did you choose Hirons for an internship?

I attended the AIGA studio tour of Hirons, and I was very impressed by it.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

I hope to complete challenging projects that test my abilities.

What kind of work-related experience do you bring to us?

I’ve been an in-house designer for Gateway Community Church since March 2018. I was also a marketing design intern at Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation during the spring of 2018.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

I grew up in Troy, Ohio. I started playing music at the age of 7. At the age of 13, I started filming and editing videos. I moved to Anderson in 2014 to attend college, where my interest in art and design began. I graduated in May 2018. Then, I moved to Fortville, Ind., where I now live with my wife, Erin.

What are your first impressions of Hirons?

Everyone is really nice, and there’s a lot of free food.

Fun facts about yourself:

  1. I can play five different musical instruments.
  2. I have two cats.
  3. I love to collect vinyl records and cassettes.
  4. I once won a Guitar Hero competition.

 

Name: Lauren Dupree

Internship Title: Communications Management Intern

What college do/did you attend and what is your major?

I attend Indiana University Bloomington and my major is public relations.

Why did you choose Hirons for an internship?

I wanted to gain more experience in my major and I like the environment Hirons offers.

What do you hope to accomplish during your internship?

I hope to become more knowledgeable about public relations and to become a better researcher.

What kind of work-related experience do you bring to us?

I volunteer with younger immigrant students and help them with their homework after school. I believe learning how to cross communicate with different types of people and helping them understand certain things are very important.

What kind of life experience do you bring to us?

I currently work with young immigrant students and try to help them in any way I can.

What are your first impressions of Hirons?

My first impression is that Hirons is very laid back, but still very efficient and business-oriented.
